Camas Day Inspiration
Sunday May 1, 2016
Artists Welcome at 12:00 PM at the Main Stage. Event runs until 4:00 PM.
Uplands Park, “grassy meadow” (Main Entrance at Cattle Point off of Beach Drive).
Artists are asked to arrive just before Noon with their own easel, chair or other sketching/painting set up. Artists will be introduced at the Main Stage at Noon and can then set up their stations anywhere in “grassy meadow”. This area is quite obvious, but if artists would like to work elsewhere in the park, they should ask onsite coordinator, Margaret Lidkea for where they can go as the park contains a number of endangered plant species. There is no tenting for artists. Please dress for the weather.
No art sales are allowed in the park, but artists can promote their work. This is an opportunity to interact with public, demonstrate their process and enjoy the park. There are a number of events scheduled for the day and it will be busy with displays from FOUP, Community Association of Oak Bay, Brighton Path Volunteers, presentations by Oak Bay High School students, Native Plant Tours with FOUP botanists, a Marine Foreshore Tour by Jacques Sirois and a Bird Walk with Geoffrey Newell at Cattle Point and a station where children can try painting and drawing "en plein air" with various media.
Please forward interested artists to me and I will follow up with them directly.
Thank you,
