Why the palette knife is an essential tool: Artist's Medium:
Pallette Knife Acrylic Demo or Paint Along?
Demo AND Paint Along
Are members required to bring a reference picture? Not really necessary |
Materials List & Comments from Artist:
The knife can be used in addition to or as a replacement for brushes. There is no need to invest in several knives: either a 3 or 4 inch flexible Italian tear drop style will work well. I use a 4 inch Number 2 Conda ( $3.50 from Opus art store) for everything. The many ways a palette knife can help you paint: *applying clean patches of colour *making crisp lines *skimming to create broken colour *creating texture or reducing texture *creating edges from blurry to to crisp & defined *placing colour into wet paint *mixing paint *scraping Irma will bring finished examples of each method she demonstrates. |
